There’s not much that beats an air show for aviation enthusiasts, and the summer is the perfect time to attend one.
No matter what your particular interest is, there’s usually a show for you.
With some major shows including Farnborough and the Royal International Air Tattoo (see our recent article here) due to take place, here’s a guide to the best UK air shows you can attend this year.

RAF Cosford Airshow
14th June 2026
This is the largest Royal Air Force air show held each year, and takes place at the Shropshire airfield (which is also home to one of the RAF Museum sites). You can expect all of the main RAF display teams and aircraft to attend.
Duxford Summer Air Show
4-5 July 2026
Duxford hosts a number of amazing shows throughout the year. Its Summer Air Show is one of the highlights. It is often a display with good variety, from UK military types to overseas and heritage aircraft, as well as a good selection of static displays and the museum itself to visit.
Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT)
17-19 July 2026
Held at RAF Fairford, this is the world’s largest military air show. Packed with hundreds of aircraft from air forces and private operators all over the world, it includes a fascinating set of displays and many static aircraft to explore.

Farnborough International Airshow
20-24 July 2026
The UK’s major trade air show, where delegates from the world’s aircraft manufacturers, airlines, air forces and airports converge on the Hampshire airfield to do deals. For spectators not associated with the aviation industry or media, there is a public display on the Friday. Expect to see the latest airliners, fast jets, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles on display.
Shuttleworth Summer Air Show
25 July 2026
The historic Old Warden in Bedfordshire hosts its Summer Air Show, with lots of early aircraft. This year there will be lots of Spitfires displaying, marking the type’s 90th anniversary. There are expected to be daytime and evening displays.

Old Buckenham Air Show
25-26 July 2026
Held at the historic airfield in Norfolk, this flying display showcases all manner of vintage military and civilian aircraft, often not seen at other shows.
Blackpool Air Show
8-9 August 2026
One of the best seaside airshows in the UK, Blackpool is a free event which is held over two days and sees a variety of aircraft displaying over the famous piers and beaches of the town. Stalls occupy the promenade.
Clacton Air Show
27-28 August 2026
Now in its 33rd year, some 250,000 people are expected to attend this huge seafront air show. Expect spectacular aerial displays from crowd pleasers, as well as night time displays using special effects to illuminate aircraft.
Duxford Battle of Britain Air Show
12-13 September 2026
Often one of the last major UK air shows of the season, this is a large show which focuses on the history of World War II and the Battle of Britain with many warbirds and formation displays taking place at this former wartime airfield.
